Tsuyoshi and Kyoko's honeymoon, from Canberra to Sydney

So, after two days in Canberra, it was time for me to take them to the big city of Sydney. We first visited Market in Canberra just so that they can look for some handmade gifts for their friends.. and we left Canberra around noon to head to Sydney.

We stopped by briefly at the Lake George, just to show them this very interesting lake without any water. They found the view spectacular, it's not everyday you see view like this in Japan.

And we had another brief stop at Goulburn to show them the big Merino sheep, but also more importantly quick stop to get some lunch at McDonald.. Tsuyoshi and Kyoko enjoying Australian Angus beef burgers.

And enjoyed Big Merino...

And then we hit bit of a road block.. about 1hour left to go to Sydney, we hit this road accident involving two fourwheel drive cars and horse trailer with two horse. Luckily there were no one hurt in the accident but because horse trailer got tipped with two horses stuck in it.. we had to wait for the vet. We were there for about 1 hour just waiting and waiting.. it was pretty surreal to have so many cars just stopped in the middle of highway.. everyone walking about.. checking to see what's happening. Tsuyoshi and I both made comment that this kinda felt like scene from Independence day.

And we finally arrived in Sydney.. about two hours later than expected.. so by the time we got there it was pretty late, and not much shops were open, but we still walked around enjoyed the famous Sydney harbour view.

Just taking it all in.

After some lovely dinner at the harbour.. we decided to spend some time here for lovely hot chocolate.. before heading back to the hotel.

We got up nice and early and again stroll around Rocks area and then on to the harbour.. it was great day and they were doing some promotion for Northern Territory tourism with few camels. I'm not sure if they've seen Camels before but they were pretty excited.

Again just taking it all in..

We then took ferry to the Taronga Zoo, great thing about going to the zoo is that you get to enjoy the ferry ride, view of the harbour and seeing australian native animals all in one go.

Tsuyoshi having some relaxing time with Kangaroos.

And seeing Koala

We must've spent good several hours there.. we had lunch there, and then headed back to Sydney.. we walked around the city a bit, seeing shops, QVD and Martin Place, and then headed down to Chinatown for dinner, walked up to the Darling Harbour and then caught ferry back to Circular Quay.. enjoying some night view of the Harbour bridge etc.. I think they had really good time in Sydney, and unfortunately early next morning they left Australia. We hardly had enough time to enjoy Sydney.. or Canberra for that matter but I hope they had a good time..

It was great for us to have family from Japan visiting, and they can now share their experiences with everyone there. Hopefully we'll have few more visitors in the future too.
